About Hassan Echair
Hassan Echair works between painting and installation, around human themes such as creative energy, freedom, power, transience and identity. His pieces combine objects and materials (mirrors, ladders, sticks tied with rope) in black-and-white geometric compositions, often as diptychs whose arrangement changes their meaning.
The mirror and the ladder recur in his work: the mirror as a reflection that questions what we think we see, the ladder as a link between levels. Much of his work reflects on dialogue and mutual understanding between the two shores of the Mediterranean, Morocco and Spain.
