About Mohamed Debdoubi
Born in Tangier in 1983, Mohamed Debdoubi first trained in music and guitar before turning to painting. Self-taught at first, he then studied fine arts for two years at the cultural delegation in Tangier. His abstract work is inspired by artists such as Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning and Cy Twombly, and seeks to translate the energy of music onto canvas.
He held a solo show at Medina Art Gallery in Tangier in 2019 and has taken part in group exhibitions at Galerie Nadar in Casablanca, the Mohamed Drissi gallery in Tangier, and in Padua and Granada.
