Né en 1989 à Rabat, Maroc Vit et travaille à Rabat, Nassim Azarzar, artiste et graphiste, développe ses recherches en suivant la piste des images populaires et en explorant leurs formes et représentations formelles, notamment celles des camions transportant des marchandises entre les villes portuaires et les villages marocains de l’Atlas et du Rif.
Avant de rejoindre QANAT (un collectif d’artistes et de chercheurs explorant l’eau dans ses dimensions politiques et poétiques) en 2019, Nassim a co-fondé : l’Atelier Superplus, un studio de design opérant entre Paris, Bristol et Tanger ; Think Tangier, une plateforme dédiée à l’exploration de la ville de Tanger et de ses extensions aux niveaux urbain et visuel ; et l’Atelier Kissaria centré sur les pratiques expérimentales d’impression.
Sa pratique artistique oscille entre la recherche et l’exploration de langages formels en les mêlant à des motifs naturels, des techniques d’impression et la culture populaire. Nassim Azarzar s’intéresse à l’élaboration de ces nouvelles esthétiques et à leurs liens intrinsèques avec leurs contextes et leurs espaces a!n de questionner notre rapport à la modernité.
