Painter
Oussama Mahassine
Oussama Mahassine discovered his passion for visual art early, refining it through apprenticeships with several artists before earning a baccalaureate in applied arts and studying at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca. Combining collage and painting, he has developed a signature style rooted in Pop Art.
The artist
He excels in portraiture, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, with youthful audacity and creativity. His series on disappearing African tribes is striking for the power of a gaze, the emotion of a posture and the precision of the gesture, each work the result of a long, demanding process.
His work has won several first prizes, including the 2013 Best Talent award of the École des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca, and has been shown in Morocco and abroad, including Paris, Montpellier and Bahrain.
