Abdelbassit Ben Dahmane
Born in Tangier in 1952, Abdelbassit Ben Dahmane has been fascinated by drawing for as long as he can remember; as a child he copied paintings by Rembrandt, Lautrec and Monet. Encouraged by a painting teacher, he spent three years at the École des Arts Appliqués in Casablanca, then trained at the Regional Teacher Training Centre in Rabat. He has taught visual arts at a high school in Tangier since 1973.
