Horses have galloped through Moroccan painting for more than a century, from the Orientalists to today’s artists. The tbourida, the equestrian fantasia inscribed by UNESCO on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2021, remains one of its great subjects: the charge, the dust, the volley fired as one.

This selection brings together the available paintings of horses, riders and fantasia by artists such as Abdelali Amayoud, Mohamed Toumi and Abdelaziz Koutbane. Each piece is one of a kind: see it at ARTWORKS gallery in Casablanca or order online, with free delivery across Morocco.
