The artist
A painter of faces
El Azhar built his style through long personal research, far from academic rules. His painting, often described as symbolist, uses colour to give every face a distinct expression, somewhere between dream and portrait.

A passionate reader, he has also designed book covers for Moroccan writers. Literature remains a constant source of inspiration, and his figures often seem to have stepped out of a novel: mysterious, elegant, lost in thought.
