Painter
Abderrahim Qassym
Abderrahim Qassym is a Moroccan painter and sculptor based in Casablanca. His practice explores drawing, colour and material in works where the surface keeps a deliberately sensitive presence.
The artist
The selection presented by Moroccan Paintings brings together mixed-media works on cardboard, in similar but never identical formats. Cardboard and mixed media give the compositions an immediate quality, where gesture, traces and layering play a full part in the image.
