Painter
Bouchra Dardar
In the work of Moroccan painter Bouchra Dardar, pictorial imagination finds its fullest expression in free compositions, abstract or semi-abstract. Light reveals a discreet graphic structure that frames and singles out each form. Her tendency to heighten reality at times leads to abstract landscapes with dazzling bursts of colour where the primaries exult, while elsewhere she harmonises complementary colours in sensitive touches and lines, as the art critic Abderrahman Benhamza has noted.
