Painter
Habib Moufaddal
Habib Moufaddal came to painting after studying literature. Today, the canvas is the space where he expresses himself freely and continuously.
The artist
An independent path
Born in 1959 and based in Rabat, Habib Moufaddal studied French literature in Grenoble and spent time studying decorative arts before developing his own, independent artistic path.
Layers, gesture, matter
His work makes generous use of mixed media and acrylic on canvas. The painting is dense and gestural, built layer upon layer. Some works are intimate; others have a commanding presence on a wall.
Collecting his work
