Painter
Idriss Darif
Idriss Darif was born in 1992 in Had Soualem, a small town in the Greater Casablanca region, into a family of artists. He began painting at a very young age and, with no academic training, developed a spontaneous yet assured touch.
The artist
His first exhibition, in Casablanca at the age of twenty, was praised by critics, who hailed him as a young hope of contemporary Moroccan art. He has since taken part in a meeting of Arab visual artists in Rabat and, from 2016, in exhibitions in Marrakech, Casablanca and Fez, including during the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music.
