About Mohamed Benyaich
Mohamed Benyaich paints playful, luminous canvases peopled with figures drawn with abrupt, deliberately distorted lines, with the freedom and expressive force of a child's drawing. He describes his painting as spiritual, led by the heart rather than reason, with colour as its most important element.
He also transforms found objects, such as pieces of wood picked up in the street or cardboard washed up by the sea, into expressive sculptures.
