Painter
Mostapha Fakir
Born in Marrakech in 1972, Mostapha Fakir completed his schooling in his native city. His passion for art began in childhood, when his monochrome and abstract works already impressed his teachers. Art accompanied him throughout his professional life until 2008, when he devoted himself entirely to painting.
The artist
Exhibitions in Morocco and abroad, including a solo show in Denmark, as well as national workshops and residencies, have shaped his experience. Although he began as a figurative painter, he soon turned to abstraction, expressed through natural spontaneity and a personal interpretation of daily life and his inner state.
Sometimes monochrome, in henna on goatskin or black and white on canvas, sometimes in oil on canvas, his works invite a thousand interpretations, which is why he often leaves them untitled: for him, each viewer brings their own vision. Interwoven colours, forms, faces and symbols leave no one indifferent.
