The artist
Salem Chouata: figures and imagination
Salem Chouata's painting explores a world in which figures mingle with signs and invented forms. His compositions go beyond describing a scene, making room for emotion, association and the inner life of an image.
Colour helps build this world. It follows the movement of forms and brings together elements that seem to come from different settings. Moving between figuration and free expression, his work invites viewers to trace details and connections across the painting.
This collection brings together Salem Chouata works in the Moroccan Paintings catalogue. Each artwork page provides its individual details and a way to ask the gallery for more information before buying.
