Painter
Abderrahim Charbak
Elliptical forms that translate an inner nomadism: Abderrahim Charbak lays his own torments and questions on the canvas, and through them those of a whole generation.
The artist
Career
A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca, Abderrahim Charbak has gradually carved out his own path in a Moroccan art scene that is often hard to enter.
A youth searching for its way
Highly sensitive, Charbak paints almost unconsciously, letting his anxieties surface in the composition. His painting speaks of a youth confronted with a hard and increasingly demanding world, yet one that resists by searching for itself and its path: beneath the restlessness, hope remains.
