Painter
Aziz Benja
Never confined to a single style: Aziz Benja believes in a creativity born of context and necessity, free to change whenever the work demands it.
The artist
Career
A Moroccan artist, Aziz Benja graduated from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan some twenty years before his recent exhibitions. In 2019 he took part in the group exhibition “L’art figuratif, le grand retour” at the Medina Art Gallery in Tangier and held a solo show at the Pasqual de Cabo gallery in Palma de Mallorca.
Against the single style
For Benja, the form of a work cannot be predicted in advance: each body of work answers its own circumstances, which frees him from the cage of a mono-style and allows him to move between figuration and other approaches without hesitation.
