Painter
Fouad Chardoudi
“My paintings are most often inspired by my poems.” A poet as much as a painter, Fouad Chardoudi practises a lyrical abstraction built on gesture and improvisation.
The artist
Career
Born in 1978, Fouad Chardoudi is a Moroccan painter who holds a degree in poetic image from Mohammed V University in Rabat. He has exhibited since 1996, and his paintings have been shown in Spain, Italy, Algeria and elsewhere in the Arab world.
A painting without borders
Having started in figuration, he moved through semi-abstraction before embracing abstraction fully. Each canvas is a journey into the unknown and a release of the unconscious: chaotic at first glance, deeply poetic to the attentive eye. Texture and colour build a singular world that explores the depth and complexity of human experience.
