Career
Born in Tiznit, where he lives and works, Aomar Ajbour is a versatile artist and visual arts teacher: painter, outstanding watercolourist, ink portraitist, comic-book creator and musician in his band. He exhibited at the Maison de la Culture in Tiznit, with a catalogue tracing the evolution of his work.
The self in motion
Twice interrupted, his painting each time revealed a different man. Neither strictly figurative nor abstract, though both modes appear, it translates an inner vision, sometimes dreamlike. As the critic Valérie Lafont noted, his palette has grown richer over time, the final period showing a painter more open to the world, after winding paths towards a lighter thought.
